hey everyone, new to this site and wondering if people had their opinions on these two subs. i can get the re audio se12 for 99 or the jl 12w3v3 for 130. im looking for something that can get loud as well as sq. i listen to a lot of rap but do also listen to everything else. been trying to do a lot or research and it seems that re is very good in how low it will get and the sq as well. i dont live anywhere near a place i can test out which would be optimal. i dont have anything yet but this is what im planing on so far.

Hifonics BXi 608 amp -mono 600rms at 1oms
Hifonics TXi 6408 amp-4chan 170rms x4 at 2oms
cdt ef61fg/t25 -6.5 components with 1" silk tweet at 175 per channel
cdt cs 6x9 fills for rear
re audio se12 or jl 12w3v3

You have the makings of a very nice little budget system there. Good work.

I don't think you'll go wrong with either. I personally would go with the RE, but both a pretty solid for what they are.

I would go w/ the RE SE myself.
Nice sub, great sealed or ported.

Try it in ~2.25cuft tuned to around 32hz on paper. You will get great lows and it will be relatively loud (depending on vehicle).

Also, w/ the RE...if you ever mess up and blow it, it can be reconed.

@ bcs- thank you. i will prob go with the re since ive heard great things about them, its cheaper, and weighs more so im thinking it will hit harder (larger magnet) and ive learned i can re-cone it. :-) ill probably start ordering on monday.

^^^Haha, dude don't worry about it man this forum has nothing!

And as far as the RE v. JL question I cannot make a recomendation between the two since I have not heard both. But I did have a JL 13w3v3 and loved it. Sounded great and got decently loud for what it was. Just my 2 cents.

IMO if you can get an SE15 for as much as a W3 12, i would go with the 15 all day.

10-$160
12-$100
15-$135

Some interesting prices.

I'm thinking my next set-up is going to be either a 10" or 12" Se on AQ 1200D. Still deciding on sealed or ported. How does that sound?
