look, Wicked... We can tell you whether or not you should upgrade... Ask your self if you like and are content with your setup... If so then why upgrade? If not, then upgrade. Although the type r's would be louder, I would hardly say that the alpines are any real progress. If you are running stock charging then your are not seeing anywhere near 2000 wrms outta that amp. Which is alright because 2000 wrms is a bit much for the Alpines, if you don't know what you are doing.

What is your budget for subs?
What electrical upgraded have you done?
Who is going to build your enclosure for whatever subs you get?
Did you actually slap your car?
Is this going in a 1999 Deville?
Did you vote for Barack Obama?
what kind of sound are you looking for Pure SPL(competitions, ect...) or SQL.. (hits hard but sounds decent, most common for daily systems)?
What kind of music do you listen too?

Just a few questions.

Okay, now we are getting somewhere. And great answers btw...
With an $1800 budget, there are many ways you can go with this.

My recommendations to you is:
the first thing is to order a H.O. alt. and get a 2nd battery. Look into mechman for the alt. $400-600 will be price range for the alt. alone. As far as battery- well there is many ways to go there. isolate a Kinetic 2400 in the trunk wired with 0/1 Ga. You will need about 30-35' of the 0/1 ga. 20 for the run to the trunk and 10-15' for "big 3" and rear battery ground run. Some will say the a 2nd run will be needed to run the front and rear battery grounds to each other.. With that amp i say save the money and do a frame ground.

that alone should cost about a grand or so... leaving 700-800 bucks to work with for enclosure and sub(s).

A good ported enclosure will run about $200-400 depending on who builds it and sub configuration. I would not go with an 18" in the trunk but that's just me.

look into:
single 15-
a fully loaded Fi BL-used
RD Audio Alpha v.2- used
AQ hdc15-new
DD 9515- used
funky pups NEW ONLY *
RE XXX used 0/4-0/5 model
Mmats Juggernaut
for starters
all would need to be dual 2ohm V.C. configuration

2-12" setup
2- sonance spl models
2- fi q's
2 -treo ssi
2 -RE SE
2 -AP epics
2 -DD 2512
and many other good possibilities- again used is fine.
would need to be dual 4 ohm V.C. configuration.

*definitely check into these.

What do you have for front-stage?
if stock or even close to stock, what is budget for front-stage (amp., comp. set, ect...)?holla

You have an $1800 budget and your looking at Type-R's???

Are you willing to upgrade your electrical?
^^^This will be the biggest factor with the budget you have.

If your not going to upgrade your cars electrical system you cannot properly run ever 1 BTL, let alone 2. The most you could do is 1 sx from your choices.

dude the way u want ur car to pound isn't what I would personally consider "daily driver".

If anything I would go with 2 re sx 15s, you'll be looking at ~$700 give or take for subs alone, don't forget, you will need amp(s) to push 'em.

and if u want any more than 2 15" SX's, you will need to upgrade ur charging sys. so If you get 2 you'll need to, so thats:

Two 15" RE SX15- ~700
H.O. alt.- ~400- 600
enclosure- ~200- 400
New Battery, wires, and 1/0 ga. run
~400- 600.
so without amps to push just 2 15s, it'll be anywhere from 1700- 2300(these are VERY rough estimates).

amps to push these could cost as much as the subs probably more. RD1750.1 could probably do the job, and Kevin Holden just lowered last year's prices.

oh btw if you were to get 4 SX15's you might need another H.O. alt, which is no fun to go through all of that.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TRUNK SPACE TO FIT EITHER OF THOSE SETUPS WITH PROPER ENCLOSURES!!!!!!!!!!!!! re-read my last couple of posts to get an idea of what YOU WILL NEED TO MATCH THAT AMP AND AIRSPACE.

wtf you gonna do with 2 fully loaded btl's(blt is a sandwitch, not a sub--)? on a 2krms amp.. you would barely move them. and you would need to yank out the backseats and do a wall to fit them in their proper enclosures. Same with the SX's.

We need a soundboard badly...

"DUMBASS.mp3"

You remind me of the type of person who has 6-8 subs in their trunk.. some in different enclosures.. some different sizes.. and most facing all a different direction

You can fit 2 ported 15"s AT MOST ... and thats knowing whats your doing

Drop the sh!tty caddy and buy an SUV if you want more subs.. they have bigger grills.. more room for tweeters

wicked- lucas R had 4 JL W0s in his car, then just for fun he decided to put 2 CVR12s in his back set. he had a 2 channel lanzar vibe 251 and both channels had a 2 ohm load. all 6 12s faced the same way, allthough it could've been about the stupidest thing he's ever done, for fun or not.

I would know.

very much.

RD1000.1

pair of CVR15s ina box built to specs. ported.

still MUCH room for upgrade, but i have other stuff i need to pay for, but i REALLY want an RE 18...

o i upped my big 3 too just in case of any future installs/ upgrades.

oh and i still have 2 W0s for sale, none of my friends will buy them though because they're broker than me, so if anyone here wants them, they're an AmAzInG SQ sub, and they run at about 300 rms, so it would be a cheap system, not for pounding.
