I currently have an MTX 9500 15' running wit a 2000 watt SSL amp... I have this running with an extra kinetic battery in the trunk of my 2002 suburban... I am looking for a louder single sub setup... I'm looking for some ear busting bass and I need a quality woofer that has solid SQ unlike the solo X.... thanks for helping me out guys

go to an 18" sub, ported enclosure, similar power to what you have now or more, and look ar RE, Fi, or similar brands for a quality sub.

You have plenty of space in the 'burban.
They an quality 18" in ~5.5-7cuft (depending on sub), tune to ~38hz on paper to get a little louder.

Also, that 2000w SSL amp is likely only about 800wrms. Go to a REAL 1200-2000w (depending on charging system).
DD9518
DD3518
Fi BL18
Fi BTL18
RE SX18
RE XXX18
AQ HDC18
RD Alpha18

Box design will make a world of difference in you vehicle.

If you really want output, stick that 18" sub in a 6th order bandpass enclosure :D

with 800 watts my choices would be the dd 3500,rd alpha with a copper coil and single spider, or a rd sonance or the sx

If you are keeping the SSL amp, you may want to try a DD2515 in a 4th order bandpass.

well... I ran it and at 2 ohms I was getting about 1400 RMS... I might be able to upgrade depending on what my friends are doing with their old amps...

Chris, just to let you know...your SSL amp is not capable or producing 2000w. Even at 1ohm, it is most likely only ~800-900wrms. So, at 2ohm you are seeing ~600wrms of clean power at best.

Those SSL amps are very overrated.
It is one of those "you get what you pay for" kinda things.

Do me a favor and tell me what size fuses your amp has in it?

so I should try and hook up one of my buddy's amps and see if it makes a difference before I look into buying anything else then?

Yes, both of those amp are far more powerful than your current SSL.

Try the RF t2000.
I bet you notice much cleaner more powerful sound.

RF T2000, make sure you have a proper fuse in place. @2 ohms it'll push 1500w which is more than what that sub is rated at. bottom line get rid of the 9500 get the jackhammer24
