i have a jl audio 12 w6v2 sub and i have it hooked up to a 800 watt california amp. im wondering if it to much power for the sub or not

give exact amp make/model and voice coil configuration on the sub.

the amp is a 800 watt california two channel amp and i have the sub hooked up parallel which is at 2 ohms but ive noticed that it streches alot

hmmmmm. by "stretches" i assume uyou mean excursion. i still need to know exact model of amp.

if that amp does rated power than it should not be too much power for the sub. do not turn bass boost on.
