if the system is "hitting" then what is the problem?

I'll assume that was a type-o and the system is not "hitting".

There are many ways to go about diagnosing amp problems.. please give a brief discription of amp/ system setup. I will try to help.

You will need a Digital Multi-Meter(DMM)

id you swap fuses? check fuse with a meter? don't just eyeball it. I've been fooled by that on fuses before.. especially on fuses in a home AC fusebox.. damned round bastages.. lol look fine, separates at the edge, no scortch mark.. really infuriating.
