How much power are you going to be using because a 3 inch aero port will need to be 17 inches long at about 23 hz in a 2 cubic foot box. Also I take it your not interested in my peerless 8 now?

another option if u cant enough tube length to give that low freq : u can save some $ & just build a sealed box that drops really low ...

it has a low fs but design specs call for

25 ltr box. 1 port. Diameter 70 mm. Lenght 120 mm. Tuning freq 50 Hz. Response, - 3 dB appr at 52 Hz.

40 ltr box. 1 port. Diameter 70 mm. Lenght 85 mm. Tuning freq 45 Hz. Response, - 3 dB appr at 45 Hz.

60 ltr box. 1 port. Diameter 70 mm. Lenght 65 mm. Tuning freq 40 Hz. Response, - 3 dB appr at 40 Hz

Its more suited for a computer sub.

*Fs: 28.2 Hz *SPL: 89.5 dB 2.83V/1m *Vas: 2.82 cu. ft. *Qms: 3.5 *Qes: 0.29 *Qts: 0.27 *Xmax: 4 mm

Well with a premade 3 inch aero port they are only 17 inches long so 23 hz is it in a 2 cubic foot box.

I was saying that I wasnt sure the 3 inch would be enough so a 2 inch definitely wont be.

Ideally a home theater sub to me would be one that can catch the lows the best. Some movies go down into the 10 hz (if you dont have a subsonic filter on) range I believe so the ideal box for me would be a sealed box. You lose in output but you gain a smaller box with a more flexible sound.

"I was saying that I wasnt sure the 3 inch would be enough so a 2 inch definitely wont be."

sean, if the diameter of the port is decreased from 3 to 2 inches, shouldn't the length of the aero also be decreased if he wanted to arrive at the same tuning frequency.

I am subject to correction because i'm uncertain if external ports (aero ports) and internal (polyvinyl chloride <pvc> ports)maintain the same (port diameter vs port length) relationship.

I've known that in pvc ports there is a direct relationship btwn port diameter and port length for a given tuning frequency.

Yes but thats not what I meant. What I mean is I dont know if a 3 inch aero port would even be enough port for the vent mach. So a 2 inch definitely wouldnt be enough.
