Sup guys. Merry Christmas to you all. Some parts of this thread may sound harsh but stick with me.

Here is the deal. This years SS was larger than last years and the last thread got cluttered with doo-doo so I wanna see what everyone got.

Straight up, every post in this thread has to include a picture of what you got. Don't have a camera? Use your phone. Can't take pictures on your phone, steal a picture offline. Can't figure that out? Draw me a picture on Paint and paste it here. Can't do any of the following? Well....may God have mercy on your soul.

This is my way of seeing what everyone got and seeing who has received and what not.

If you have not received, then send me an email at y2kmonkey33@aol.com ASAP. If you are reading this and haven't received, I want an email from you 15 minutes ago so I can deal with the problem. And believe me, it will be dealt with.

For those who have not sent yet, which better be nobody. If you do not send and plan on receiving a gift and dipping from this forum and changing to a new name, believe me, we will catch on. Me, and everyone else in SS, will make sure that you never sell on eBay or any forum ever again. We will make any and all necessary steps to doing whatever the hell we can, to ensure you get fecal matter all over you.

But anyway, lets not touch that until something arises which I do not intend on happening.

If you are not part of SS, please feel free to not post and to hit the back button on the top of the page.

Here is what I received:
One badass, mothafuckin' Yankees Jacket....its sweeeeet

Wow Rob, that's funny what you just did. The way you noticed you were being dumb and then did it again to piss people off.

Damn man, where do you come up with your stuff?

Btw, is it really this hard for people to read and follow directions......Some people, I swear.

What exactly did I do? What am I missing here? You just now noticed I was being dumb? I guess you're not too bright yourself if you didn't notice long ago.

I come up with stuff using the endless amount of time that I have on my hands.

It's not that it's hard for people to read and follow directions but maybe they just choose not to or they can't read or don't read directions.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

Onkyo TX-NR906. Their flagship receiver

also bought a Panasonic 58" plasma TV, a panasonic BD55 bluray DVD player, a logitech harmony 1000 universal touchscreen remote, and 4 polk audio FXi3 dipole surround speakers, and upgraded to an HR22-100 HD DVR. although none of that is for the car.

the NR906 is 50.9lbs :-) uses three toroidal transformers for the power supply. It is awesome. It even lets me assign each amp channel individually so I can bridge or bi-amp channels by combining two channels to one speaker.

Hang in there berny. GL.

and nice stereo there GlassWolf.

If i was to go inside, i would love a Decware. They just look so cool. Im sure the newer stuff outperforms it, but it does look cool.

very sexy. I wanted a pass labs amplifier for quite a while myself but couldn't justify the $25,000 price tag for it.
I ended up getting a Krell KSA-250 to drive the Martin Logans instead, but those are just for critical music listening, not home theater.

Wow, I just checked out that Krell. What a Monster. 140 lbs. Dedicated 20 amp curcuit..Ya, I wont even pretend to know what critical music listening means. But Im sure thats the right stuff for it.

I hope I dont become a HT addict, that stuff is soooo $$$$$.

That sounds very familiar Sean lol. I once ran a 15" mag off a Dayton amp myself.

Yes it was overkill but isn't that the creed for most bassheads?????

These are the Odysseys that are driven by the Krell. They sold for about $8,500/pair new. Really nice speakers.. Unconventional in that they produce all of their sound above about 500Hz by using 120VAC sent through a metal mesh panel that resonates to produce sound. (ESL or electrostatic panel)

Amazing sound though.. So lifelike that listening to a good jazz CD, you'd swear that you were really there in the club at a table listening to the band.

actually I got the inspiration to build a new center channel stand for my pinnacle p5.5 today and bought some railing section to use for the vertical legs. I have some teak to use as the base and the speaker platform.. then it's just a lot of table saw, router, and sanding work.. then some nice stain and varnish.
Should come out as a lovely irridescent teak with cherry supports. It'll be similar in design to some of the Sanus cherry speaker stands for surrounds.

I'm considering bring my wall out where my audio/video equipment is and making everything flush mount into the wall.. maybe make some covers to go over everything.. just have not had the motivation yet

it would be the whole wall and house the tv/towers/center/gaming systems ect

like this? it's a rough sketch for a new media room in the house I'm buying this Spring.

http://www.glasswolf.net/av/floorplan.png

the door to the right of the TV is actually a swing-out shelving unit to access the cabling behind the components. When it's closed, it'll look like a built-in bookcase sort of set of shelves. I considered going with in-wall plates for surround speakers, but I prefer dipoles for surround, and they work better on pedistals freestanding or mounted on-wall.
The center channel and sub on the front false wall are recessed into the wall, and covered with wall color matching grille cloth panels.
The panels on the side and rear walls and in the corners are sound control mats.

Something similar yes.. except my media wall is a bit smaller.. house is kinda setup odd

I've got to figure out what ima do about the sub situation though..

Right now my entertainment center is my old sub box for 2 15"s that was in my silverado ext cab.. it looks good.. sounds good.. but takes up too much room

I may use my 04/05 XXX 15" and build it into a coffee table/foot pedestal.. but if its too big i'll use my other 04/05 XXX 12" .. prolly only a 500watt plate amp since I don't need even that much power

Still gotta work on a good a/v receiver

a sub is a tricky thing. you need good placement for good response and the only way to find the best placement is by trial and error.
move the sub around, try loading it against one wall, then corner load it, then try it in the middle of the room etc.. see what works best.
corner loading gives you the most bass generally, but it can be too boomy that way as well. You need to see what works before deciding how to address the aesthetics.

Currently I've got two 15"s downfiring.. again it is my entertainment center and directly behind it is a wall/corner so it loads the seating area quite well.. a little too well

It can get boomy at times.. Sounds horrible outside my house. I've got to upgrade my windows yet to double pane since it is an old house with single pane..
