ok my old system got flooded, so im gettin another car (dodge magnum) so im trying to figure out bang for buck, SQ and some SPL. i loved my diamond D3s awesome subs. they sounded better than subs twice the $ and sounded louder than 15s. everywhere i went ppl were impressed by everything, noted not the loudest. even the place i bought them was impressed. well im considering D3s or D6s, mojos, w6s or w7s. need amps too, my memphis amps worked great, i tried to upload pic of old system wont let me <img>
the photobucket should work. plus the magnum has more room, i listen to alot of rock and rap

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your questions, maybe the best place to start would be to let us know everything you are looking for, how much you want to spend on each item, or in total, and what types of items you would like (# of subs, size, how much power, etc.)

There are a lot of knowledgeable people here that would be happy to help if you can provide some information.

well no more than 5k total pref 4k, i can install myself, with the size of the magnum i could do 4 subs no pro. or 2 badass ones ya know, i stated the subs im lookin at, im lookin more at SQ than SPL but i wanna be heard. i can get some stuff at whole sale buddy is a dealer. maybe something similar to what i had just bigger and better. 140 spl would be good enough. click link in 1st message to see old setup

Do you have an aftermarket headunit or speakers?

Are you willing to upgrade your alternator (only if running over ~1000watts RMS)?

With 4k we can build you an awesome system, but i need to know those questions 1st.

What Jake said. There are a ton of great brands that you can look into other than those you listed, so you may want to look into those.

i'll be gettin the RT model not sure on the alt output, but puttin a better one is no problem, yes i'll be upgrading the head unit prolly not a dvd play cause i dont really like em. just a nice one with 6 pre outs, im not sure what i'll use for speakrs, prolly diamond or memphis or something you guys reccomend, i dont mind have diff brand stuff just as long as it works well, my last system was memphis amps, daimond subs, rockford 6x9s and components the more expensive one cant remember if punch or power series. bottom line a big step up from what i had

4 Sonance 12's on a RD 3250.1
hit up an RD sells rep se_rdaudio@yahoo.com

you will need to upgrade to a 250 amp alt, and at least 2 group 31 batteries. What kind of music do you listen too? I also recommend Eclipse headunits. I see you are in MS, how far from Georgia are you, that is where RD is based.

Failure. Biggest alt you can get is fine it may not be 250. And a good battery of whatever size you car needs. Possible a seperate battery for the audio system if the cars battery size is small.

and at least 2 group 31 batteries? i know what 250 amp alt is, but the batteries im not sure, i have basic knowledge of this stuff. so plz explain the batteries thing, i just looked at the elite rd speaker seems like thats more SQL than the sonance, but you tell me. i can get optima batts for coast if that helps. i listen to mostly hard rock and rap anything from avenged sevelfold to lil wayne or jeezy. i heard eclipse makes a good unit. well im about 4-5hrs from atl

group size is the size of battery that your car takes. Like I said just get a good battery (odyssey, kenitik, powermaster, etc) of the correct size.

Kyle, the Sonance is a VERY nice Sq sub with good output. I listen to the same music as well, and with my Sonance 12's and a 1750.1 they kept up with the double bass very easy. While listening to lil john or young jeezy they get VERY low without issues. If you want more info on RD, shoot me an email.
se_rdaudio@yahoo.com

As for batteries, the Kinetik 2400 or Powermaster D3100 would be nice to run off the alt. Mechman makes a 250 amp alt that would work for you.

Also, since you aren;t too far away, we could help build and install your system if wanted.

find yourself two RE XXX 15"s and 3000rms to power them.. you'll be in love.

IMO don't drop all the money on subs.. invest in your frontstage/hu first.. with the left over decide on subs and an amp for that

with your total budget so high i'd spend more on the front comps..

IMO..

2.0k on front stage .. (amps/comps/h/u or processor)
1.5k on fill/deadener/electrical/wiring
1.5k on subs/box/amp/s

You were stressing the importance of SQ earlier.. just don't go cheap where it counts

"even the place i bought them was impressed. "

This made me laugh a bit. Of course they were "impressed" because they sold you the subs. That aside, Diamond D3s are some great subs, they sound decently loud and are clean sounding as well.

rob always sees things a little "outside" the box...like myself. hahaha

if they installed it, or sold you the equipment, they arent going to dog it. they would lose sales. :-)

I had a budget of a little over $3000 and I got the system of my dreams. Eclipse cd 7200mkii head unit, 2 sets of Hertz Mlk 165 components,2 Arc audio ks 1000.1 amplifiers, 1 Arc Audio ks 300.4 amplifier, and 2 12" Hertz mille ml 3000 subwoofers. Now all this stuff is top of the line, with a budget of 4k or 5k you could probably do even better. If you have any questions or need any components for your system I can get anything and beat anyones prices with warranty. Shoot me an email at joshualittle1982@yahoo.com , if your interested cool, if not no big deal but I'd love to help you build a sound system.

I'm not sure if my last post went through so I'll do it again. With that high of a budget you want the best and you can get the best. I would recommend an ECLIPSE CD 7200MKii head unit, a HERTZ MLK or MLK 2 component set, 2 ARC AUDIO KS 1000.1 amplifiers for your subs. 1 or 2 ARC AUDIO ks 300.4 amplifiers for your components depending on whether your going to run active or not and 2 HERTZ MILLE ML 3800 15" subwoofers. This is similar to the setup I have. This is the best possible setup I can think of except maybe doing AUDISON amplifiers in place of the ARC's. My friend is a dealer and can get all this stuff at just above cost, shoot me an e-mail if your interested, if not good luck with your search. joshualittle1982@yahoo.com

depends, if hes truely wanting SQ i'd recommend getting an alpine h701 and a h/u that can control it

and I'd still rank 04/05 RE XXXs over those hertz subs
