Quick questions about box volume

I am going to build a sealed box, and I want to make the front face that holds the sub using two sheets of mdf so it is twice as thick. Do I need to subtract the volume of the inner sheet from the total box volume?

not aslong as u put that extra baffle on the outside of the box.

Does this sheet of mdf have to be subtracted from the total box volume?

it depends if you mount the sub, below that second sheet or below the first sheet, if you mount it below the second then you will subtract that mdf
