"Bass knobs are completely pointless..."

i beg to differ my good friend nick. i like having my bass knob. when i am sitting in my car waiting for someone with the engine off, i use the bass knob to turn the bass all the way down so it won't drain my battery as fast.

but yeah you can definately live without it and this thread is really pointless. you could of just emailed him directly.

yeah nick i thought we got into be4 about bass knobs lol, plus the knob in, turn it all the way up, then set your gain, that away all you can do is turn the knob down and limit the gain to your amp FYI

SQ= something that accurately reproduces the original recording. To achieve this, the sub system's design must include things like input power, of course its enclosure (size/type/alignment/positioning/etc), and the rest of the system it is to be paired with. You can make a decent subwoofer sound very good if you attack all the variables with equal thought.

Maybe you misunderstood me, Chadly :-)

Bass knobs are simply are boost at a certain frequency. All they are good for is clipping your subs.

Gain knobs are a completely different thing. It just adjusts the gain on your amp. Now this is EXTREMELY useful.

Now to my knowledge, RD amps come with a bass knob. This is why I said bass knobs are useless.

"the rd amps come with gain knobs. at least the one i had did."

Really? I played with the ones that game with my 1750s and they seemed to be more of a bass boost knob. I could be wrong though.

I'll call Steve for you BLK and tell him to look.

Ok BLK,

He said call him tomorrow. He will be up at the shop.

Also, there is a knob made by Hooker Audio that goes inline with the RCAs to the sub amp. All it does is decrease/increase the signal voltage to the amps (just like the sub level on the headunit)

It's called the Hooker Audio XRBC

Snow is correct. The Hifonics has a bass boost knob.

Kevin, put one of the Hooker Audio XRBC in line with the RCAs to the sub amp. That will work perfectly.

Thanks guys... Im gunna go pull that wh0re(as in my bass knob, not the hooker knob) out right now. Idk if I even need a gain knob. I pretty much just have it set and dont turn it down much. Ill look into the hooker though.

If you're talking about gain knobs, then it is not necessary to turn the knob up all the way before setting the gain.

I've done that with a bass knob a long time ago. Turning it up all the way and then setting the gain. I wouldn't do that again though.

"My headunit does everything I need it to do lol"

Nick... If you have to navigate to get to the screen that controls your subwoofer. That is not what I consider convient.. My H.U. does that also, But my EQ does it instantly! lol
