I want to add a second amp to power my door speakers. To do it i run one set of rca cables from my hu to a crossover. Then out of the crossover one set of rca's go to my sub amp and the others to my speaker amp?

Then i dont use my hu to power my door speakers any more i use my amp to power them. Correct?

i would run one set of rcas straight from the hu to the sub amp then another from the hu to the crossover to the door amp but you know me im no expert so get another opinion but for sure you dont run the speakers off your hu anymore if you have an amp for them

Most amps have crossovers built in so you don't need an external one. If the HU has sub outputs you can run RCAs from there to the sub amp, and another set from the front outputs to the speaker amp.

If you only have front/rear outputs, you run one set from HU to one amp, then as long as that amp has RCA outs, from there to the second amp. The RCA outputs on the amp are pass through.
