Seperate amps for DVC sub

I'm thinking of using two Audiobahn A8002T, both bridged at 4 ohm. I should have somewhere in the realm of 1000w with both. My only concern is what happens if one of the amp shuts down during operation (thermal, or some other event). Would the speaker be damaged by running off the single voice coil for a short period of time?
