i have never competed in usaci so i wouldn't know nick. but that is insane numbers at that frequency. imagine if they got closer to the action. lol.

Actually they have to pump an insane amount of water directly under the pad at the moment of ignition. The water helps to absorb the intense sound pressure that would normally shake the launch pad to a rubble. I can only imagine the sensation of sitting on top of that candle when it lifts off.

its still really cool! wish they could get closer to see how loud it is on the pad

And what most ppl see as smoke is acuaully steam.
