Might have found a new avalanche, tinsel slap???

as some of you know from my other thread some of my stuff was stolen from my yukon and my precious avalanche was taken too. Thanks to keith on here i may have found another one but it has what sounds like "tinsel slap" What exactly is that and is there a way to fix it or do i have to recone it? That occurs when the tinsel leads slap against the cone during high excursion.

Those subs should have a patch of felt to limit that sound(if it occurs) to an inaudible level when the sub is driven hard(inside enclosures).But tinsel slap should not occur at moderate volumes.



He should have observed the movement of the tinsel during play as that problem is easy to diagnose.

Its also possible that this could be a case of a misaligned voice coil.

I've never played my avalanche free air, nor have i ever had a problem with her leads slapping.(even at 1200wrms).
