Can they handle a clean 1000-1200w daily? Would the SQ hold up on that amount of power, like mudding up the double kick bass, ect...?

Also... these have the same motor/basket as the SX's correct?

Same basket, yes

Motor, NO
The SE is a totally different sub.

You could run a 1000wrms amp to one, but if you send it even the beginnings of a clipped signal...kiss it goodbye.

Thanks man. Anyone heard one with 1000+ watts to one? If so how was the SQ?

Just having a 1000w amp on it will not make it sound muddy.

Pushing the sub past its limits will though. Don't be a volume monkey and you will be fine.

Canaan makes a good point. Another thing ill add though is if accuracy is what your looking for you also need to have a solid electrical system to support that 1000 watts and the other amps your running. That will also keep a clipped signal from happening. The other thing I noticed with a set of subs in the past is when I gave them rated power they werent as loud compared to twice the rated power (as would be expected) but they had noticeably better sound quality. I believe thats partially because the sub wasnt as near its rated xmax. The main thing is you will be able to give the sub clean power if you have 1200 watts to adjust to it but be carefull how hot you get the voice coils.

imo i would NOT advise that amt of power on it for too long ...i run a pair of 10s daily off my orion 2500d with 0 gain & i have to keep d vol level low since u can hear when they start to distort ...so i wired em to 4 ohms & they get 1200wrms which they r very comfortable with ...

Thanks for the input guys. I'm just rolling ideas I've got a few weeks until I throw a system together for my winter ride. I might just stick with my TC9 Frankenstein for now, unless I find a sweet deal on a used SE...then it's on
