Another question for all you car sound experts.

Gave me some good answers with my first post, figured i would try again.

I bought a Crunch 1000.1 amp(new) from a friend for 50 bucks, and i am
not sure if this amp is doing its job. I cannot seem to get a good
solid clean, clear bass from the subs. I am using a pioneer 5000ub
head unit.
Also, have 2 other amps that came out of my cousins wrecked car. MTX
801D and Hifonics Brutus BXi 1606D,would either one of these amp
deliver better sound, or am i just to much of a beginner at this to
figure how to work the fukkking things.

Thanks,
DWreck

Set your settings right.

2nd. Not enough information to determine anything for you. I would prefer either the mtx and hifonics over the crunch anyday of the week hands down. But if you don't know how to set your settings, your going to get the same sound you did with the crunch amp (assuming you don't know how to set your settings & abusing the gain/bass boost/clipping).

The mtx does 800rms @ 2ohms, the hifonics claims to do 1600rms @ 1ohm (overrated, more like 1300rms). What subs are you using? Brand/Model?

I believe that your sub is a single 4 ohm? From what I find with that exact model it is. If you have a pair of them, get the mtx 801D, wire the subs in parallel assuming you have 2 subs, and you'll get 800rms from the amp. Your subs power handling is 400rms so it'll be perfect.

I have tried messing with the gain, LPF, Subsonic settings and i just dont know enough about em to get them to where it sounds good. I will have to do more research online to get a better understanding of all the 50 - 125hz stuff. I had subs in my truck before, but my friend set that up for me.
I have 2 subs(mtx 8000 single 4ohm) in a sealed box. I generally listen to mainly hardcore, death and black metal music, but have been listening to some rap lately and i want a sound that will compliment both styles of music.

will try the mtx amp and see what i get from that.

Thanks,
