You've got 1500 posts and asking if you should buy a capacitor?

get the battery over the cap, the cap will help with quick bass hits, but its better overall to get the battery.

If you've got a 200 amp alt and voltage is still dropping that low battery capacity is your problem..... get a BIG battery (or several) in there.

The cap does more harm than good when it comes to current flow.

But that being said it does help with light dim problems...
I would get the battery.

What batt do you currently have under the hood? Is the Big 3 done properly? (assuming you did, hopefully)

big three was just re-done properly. i have a brand new but stock battery its 575 cca.

What battery should i get in the trunk?
how many watts rms will a hc2400 support?

when wiring up the second battery do i just connect a run of 0/1 to the pos of the other battery. and then the neg i can just bolt anywhere to the body?

Maybe look into ditching that current batt under the hood. If going with kenetic, get the biggest one they have that will fit under the hood and a 2400 for the trunk?

^^^Just an idea, I'm not an expert on electrical so wait for a second opinion.

yea i would but my under hood batt is brand new. i will wait for it to die.

should i isolate the batt in the trunk or does it not really matter. how long will a hc2400 bump for with the engine off.

Agreed.....except make the back one the same as the front so you dont have to isolate them.

I strongly advise you change the battery you have to both be dry cell batteries. When you run both a wet and dry battery, something can happen where the charges can vary and can damage both batteries over time.

Go to http://www.kinetikaudio.com/calc.asp and follow the directions.

OT: Anyone else tired of websites like Kinetik Audio and RE Audio insisting on playing ridiculously loud sounds when you are on their website?

If you did want to isolate them with an isolator, that would cost as much as a replacing the batt under the hood.
