well you would need an amp that will do descent power into 2 ohms

the kicker zx750.1 would be a good amp for that sub

i have an amp that i will sell for pretty cheap if interested.

it is an Eclipse DA7122 - It will do 1000 into 2 ohms.

I will sell my amp for $170 shipped

oh ok, its okay, im looking for a kicker amp :-)
what does it mean when its 2 ohm
the zx1000 at 2ohms is too much or its half powered.

and what wiring kit do i need for the zx750 or 1000 like a 4 gauge or wat? thanks

the zx1000 would probably be a bit much for the L7 12 as it is rated @ 750 RMS

the zx1000.1 would probably put out more like 1200 RMS as it is under-rated

the zx750.1 is still under-rated and is a great amp for that sub

http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX750-1-750w-RMS-MONO-CAR-AUDIO-AMPLIFIER-AMP_W0QQite mZ350094780778QQcmdZViewItem

it is a refurb but that is basically a new amp and comes with a 1 year warranty

if i were you - i would get the zx750.1

4 guage would be sufficient but it is always a good idea to run bigger wire in case you upgrade later

and 2 ohm is what the kicker amps are stable at - and a 2 ohm amp is what you need for your subs vc config

1 dual 4 ohm sub would wire down to 2 ohms. you would want to use option 1 in the link below

series vs parallel

http://www.termpro.com/articles/spkrz.html

you want a lower impedence because you can get more power that way(on most amps) - wire like option 1

do you have a HU?

more specifically, the rear 6x9 speakers and 6 1/2 front speakers we are planning to get are these JBL GTO937 and GTO637

links below for there specifications. If its possible to calculate what the 2nd amp could be? or will a ZX850.4 will work?

leave the stock rear speakers in place. in a car, all the sound should come from in front of you, like a stage. so skip the rears and focus more on the front speakers. whats your budget for front speakers and a speaker amp?
