well i figure i should be able to get about 5 cu ft for a box with max dimensions. does 1 18" or 2 12"s have more cone area? both would recieve the same power and have ported enclosures. i want a loud daily driver that is good for lows when needed
ya thats what i was thinkin but im plannin on running around 1k rms and with a budget of like 800 so i was thinkin about runnin all AQ but some ppl say the 2.5's dont hit lows that well and a lot of my music is lower
maybe try a pair of boston g5s'? not the loudest, but they get low and sound real good. and i think they're still buy 1 get 1 free at crutchfield, so a pair of 12"s would be $400 shipped.
I dont know about the 15's but ive heard the hdc 12's in two installs. The first time was one hdc 12 in a box 2.50 cf slot port style tuned to 35 hz and the low end wasnt very tight sq wise. The second install was using two hdc 12's in another car in a 3.40 cf box approx. with two 4 inch aero ports tuned to 37 hz and the sq on the lows was fine.
