Yes it's the 4x4, but with leather:-). And it's the same color as yours, which I'm not crazy about.

@ Sean- same power that I had on the solo x's
2-bxi2005's.. They pounded the solo's.. These amps are closer to the rms of the Alphas than the Solo's...
I have a deal in the works for a 5750 from Steve...

@ scott- Thought you said that it was for the v6.. I have the 4.0L inline 6... If you would send detailed pics and I will compare to my 132 amp alt.. thanks.

@ goodie-- Geez.. I hope not... The box design came from Steve Miller. He used A JGC to make the measurements.

thanks for the replies..

rule of thumb is 12-16 sq inches of port for every cubic feet of the box. and usually 18's want at least 80-90 to breathe

Most 18" do need alot of port. The Alpha 18" really like around 40 per sub for daily applications and aroun 6 cubes total per driver.

The sonance 18" do best in only 4.5-5 cubes with around 35 sq of port.

If you wanted a SPL box for the alphas you could run them in 7 cubes with 60-80sq of port.

"I have several of those bar clamps myself. Affordable and work well."

They were $3.00 a piece.... I bought 6..They worked quite nicely.

Am getting close to being done with the install... Hopefully I will have it completed today... Carpet and all.. Really curious to see if they are gonna be louder than the 2-12" solo x's... They should be.. I will upload some pics this evening if I get it done...
If not, it will be tommorrow for sure..

quick question... The subs are D2 ohm... All the V.C.'s read 2.7 ohm... As did my Solo X's.. Is that normal? why? thanks again guys..

Vid coming soon.. likely tomorrow. when I can use my good camera. The Canon SD750 handles the bass with ease. By far the best Bass video camera I have ever seen.

Review)

I found the res. Freq. of my jeep... I can't tell you the exact Hz. but The song "I Run This" Lil Wayne and Birdman has that particular Freq. most of the way through it. It makes my Jeep sound like the high pitched thunder.
The lowest bass part on the song "I put on" - Jeezy Is hit with ease and really make the air move.... The Solo X's wouldn't hit it because of the box tuning (45 hz.)

I can say for sure that my TL #'s have improved drastically over the Solo X's with the same power... Likely because the amps I am running are closer to the RMS wattage of the Alpha's as compared to the Solo X's. And Cone area as well! The increase is obvious to the ear to anybody who has heard both systems.. These subs hit the upper Freq's nicely and can hit all of the subsonic notes in the song "Bass, I love You" without any problems.. I can tell that the 2 hifonics BXI-2005D's do a nice job pushing these monsters. But they could handle more... Which scares the sh!t outta me.. Playing the song"Six- Twelves- Webbie" makes my gas cap lid open up... Never happen before.. Over all It's pretty fu(kin' sick!! I have a local show here in Lake Charles, La. On Sept. 6th and will get it TL'ed(w/ pics.).. It is a Usaci event. I wanna know what this system is doing before Canaan's Sound-Off in Late Sept.. I really have no chance as I will be in the most powerful class.. Kinda sux! But I really wanna meet He and Nick V. and the rest of their team. Maybe knock a few back at HOOTERS or somewhere like that the night b4 the Comp. If work will let me.. Thanks for taking the time to read all this sh!t!

I would also like to thank Steve Miller for the box design and the inexpensive price on the Alpha's($490-shipped) WOW. He gave me a great quote on a RD5750.1 that I am considering... Wish me luck.

i think the subs read that way because of your DMM

touch the leads together on the DMM and see what it reads and then subtract that from your VC reading

great review - i wish i could have my 15 inch alphas in as fast as you have your 18s in

looks good mark

VIDS ASAP
