I know I should just buy an amp but I don't have enough money right now, so if I were to hook up my 2 subs directly to the head unit, what would be the best way to do so? Would I just splice the two subs into the rear speaker channels?

sounds wreckless.....better to just wait until you have enough money for a amp...or you might be dishing out more money to get a new HU..

even IF it doesnt hurt anything, most likely the subs wont move, and they will also play the highs through them, not just bass

Wrong wrong wrong.

And even more wrong.

What HU? What subs?

What are you thinking?

Just fugging with ya.

You need a dedicated amp for your subs. Using the left and right channels from your HU will only end in disaster. Nothing will fry or burn but you'll wish it had.
