well, yesterday i was at a spl event i hit 142.1 with 2 12" kicker L7's. i personally thought that was low, there running off a 1200rms monoblock at 2ohms in a sealed enclosure.

Actually that seems pretty good being sealed. What car is this in and was this score on music or burping on tones?

"because your not supposed to run those sealed."

Says who? I'm pretty sure kicker has specs for sealed enclosures for those subs. Matter of fact people have run them sealed as well plenty of times just fine. Stop spreading B.S. please.

Thats actually pretty high for sealed. I was only doing 1.5dB more with 2 15s and 2kw sealed.

What kinda mic was it on?... legal?...

im not sure wat mic it was on, but yes it was legal. the mic they used is giving peak spl, not the average. ill ask them wat mic they were using.

you can run them sealed, but they prefer ported boxes. decent score sealed.

sorry my bad, i just heard they sound like pretty bad sealed. and he could prolly get a way better score if he ported them.

he likely would have gotten a better score in the right ported enclosure. A lot better IMO

i think whaat he meant was they get louder when ported and for spl events a ported box would get you a higher score

for that being a sealed box though a very decient score

One l7 12 ported could be louder but that is a good score sealed.
