so ive got this car cd player (head unit) built into the wall of my bathroom (yes, it's NOT in a car). Ive noticed that it gets EXTREMELY hot and im concerned it may be a possible fire hazard. Anything i can do about it? it will get really hot after being on for several minutes.

sounds like a extreamly closed space. the only way to probably remedy it would be get some pc cooling fans and create some cooling.

not any more enclosed than a car head unit compartment is. I've taken head units out of cars where I can't even touch them theyre so hot. I have the insulation in the walls pushed away from the head unit, but the unit is entirely enclosed in the wall (lucky for me they used 2x10s for my wall joists!).
I was thinking of PC fans, maybe ill give it a try. I just wanted something without having to put fans in.

theres not many options left other then maybe venting thesytem through a air duct. in a car it's closed up but theres still some ait turbulence and typically it's all open top to bottom the radio just kind of hangs in place. unless u rigged up a water cooling system fans may be your only option. what can help to is maybe gogle installs in garages or houses see if anyones in the same boat.
