so i finally got my wiring kit for my sub. and my friend and i set it up... i ran the power wire from my battery to my amp. i grounded my amp correctly i attached the remote wire to the hu and to the amp. i attached the rca's to the hu and to the amp.. i sent the wires from the amp to the sub box then from the box to the sub. its a dual 4 so i wired it positive to positive on the voice coils and negative to negative. and then the wires from the amp from positive to positive an negative to negative..
when i tried playing music nothing happened...
i know i probably left out a few details but any ideas on what i might have done wrong?
yea Mike my buddy did that too, check remote usually (blue white) and that rca's are in input on amp, that sub setting is on, after that let us know what happens so we can narrow it down
Connect an mp3 player to the amp inputs. If you get audio the problem is with the HU or RCA cables. IF you don't it's with the speakers or speaker cables.
BTW did you check the amp settings? Gain, SSF, LPF, you set those?
Put a DMM up to the speaker terminals on the amp to test for output, if your amp is really getting a signal like you claim it to be, you have a dead channel in the amp or a junk sub, but I doubt that is the case
yeah, could be a dead channel, but do what M.S said that way u know if its a problem with the deck, so u can narrow it down, is the connection inside the box good, is the sub blown? what kind of equipment do u have?
