That DD2500 needs more power :-)
I usually sell em w/ ~1000wrms.

Ran a pair of 2515's on 2 M1a's strapped @ 1ohm for 6months (co-workered truck)...they in perfect shape.

The old audioque 2.5 12 sounded very similar and was just as impressive to me. We hit 141.7 db with one on the termlab on 600 rms in a daily tune 35 hz ported box.

meh... all in the eye of the beholder I guess. Some kid at the 3x last weekend pulled a 146.7 out of 300wrms eclipse 4 chanel amp on a pair of 18s at the last show. Now that was somewhat impressive.

Thank about what you just said for a minute

PAIR OF 18s, what size box, and tuning
and what size box

If any of you guys are familiar with Firebird T Tops the back has a dip in it

He just put a Baffle over it and did some math, and made a port, again since hes not going for all out SPL

Like the guy with the 18s thats great and it sounded good

F SPL F#rt Scores its all about the Groundpounder

2.50 cubic feet after sub and port. And we didnt use any of the tricks we should have used so it could have been louder.

nice im puttin one in my friends wrx...its gonna be an sdc2.5 but i figure they should do good in about the same conditions as the old ones

and i have a 95 TA and the hatch really does help on getting loud...dont know about numbers but to the ear when i put my setup in my sisters mustang it was not as loud...sooo hatch ftw

The sub we had was suggested by audioque to be in 2.00 cubic feet after sub and port tuned at 40 hz.

Guy in my neck of the woods was hitting 156s a few years back on a single 12, (justin whitty) for any of you guys who come to worlds, so dont give me that lame excuse of no replacement for displacement. A 140 is okay but nothing that all impressive that is all, I am not bashing on the setup but its nothing to be surprised about.

140.8db on 750RMS on a 12" is go if done on TL.IMO

"He has his own mic too"

What mic is that?

"The old audioque 2.5 12 sounded very similar and was just as impressive to me."

Agreed and cost less

X2. I'm willing to bet the the setups that Kitzis keeps throwing out probably sound like azz on music.

the two 18s is a daily beater.
obviously the 156 is a one note wonder on a single 12, he won street A at worlds two years back.

All Im saying is 140 is nice but nothing to cream yourself over, its been done before and it will be done again, but what do I know

What vehicle subwoofer and power did this guy use to hit a 156 with a single 12? And did he have the amp below ohm load?

This Justin Whittey?

http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=32526&Season=2008&P age=5

Not trying to be an azz, but I see on 156 on his record.

What team is he part of?
Maybe he competes under the team's name, alot of top competitors do.

156 in Street A is very impressive.

Yes he has been under several team names the last one would be Team Sound Mekanix. 156 was done on a 12" MT in his CRX on a AB 700.1

Well that re mt 12 is being run on what 7000 watts plus from that ab 700.1 since hes probably below ohm load. In a car that is known to be good for spl. And these cars were talking about are running 750 watts or less in daily boxes. So id expect big numbers from a set up like the one you mentioned but its not in the realm of affordable for guys on the street level. We did a 145.2 db on the termlab with that audioque 2.5 12 on about 800 rms in a burp box in street A. And we have done a best of 145.6 db on our termlab on no more than 1200 rms but never took it to a show because my brother switched his focus to another sub woofer. And that wasnt in my brothers crx.

OMG

First off this thread was about how I was impressed with my first DD listening session

it was great, he didt build this setup to shatter records, Sh*ts fine to me and him, Im not lik omg he hit 140 with a single 12,

I just think it sounded great, I guess some ppl like DB scores, than a good quality system thats a great daily setup

Just like i was saying SPL FTL Groundpounders all day everyday

Just had to say that,

I was just stating that i finnaly heard my first DD and loved it
