First, the box i had built for my 10" revo sucks. Im getting port noise and its like a one note wonder. Im thinking of running it sealed. What do you recommend?

Second, Is it normal for the Revos coils to read 2.9ohm? I had it bridged on a treo 250.2 which should do about 1200w at 4ohms and it just wasnt right so i looked and it read 5.8ohm.

well your box isn't build right probably. what are the specs of the box. when i had mine in a ported it sounded very nice. i do however like sealed better.

as far as the coils go, i never put my dmm on it so i am not sure what it reads exactly.

Touch the DMM leads together and see what ohm that reads. Then subtract it from the 3.0ohms.

Then your coils are 2 ohms.

Your DMM leads have .9ohms of resistance. So you got to subtract that from your gross resistance to get the sub resistance.

You never gave specs of your current box? lol

Ask Exige. He should know exactly what you need.

1.5 cubic ft of internal airspace tuned to 32 hz, has a 2.25" wide port with a tad over 23 sq. inches of port area! Externally, it's 29.75" wide, 11.75" high and 14.5" deep!

That is what vitveet told me when he before he made it. It kills the low end but doesnt hit all the notes in my R&B songs.

Here is a pic he sent me in the build process.

It seems like all that thing hits are the low notes. Im still learning about the whole box thing but what all causes port noise?

thats not caulking holding the box together at the joints is it?

port noise issue is normally too small or a port or a poor designed port..

i never do a port like the one you have, i try to have the less amount of bends possible and ive always used 16square inches of port per cube before displacement

remember, most songs peak fairly high so this is why your not going to like it tuned so low.. there s not many songs that play really under 38hz-40hz as the main bassline

yea thanks for everyones help. I hear 1.5 cu ft sealed. Any suggestions on ported box in the future. Something tuned a bit higher so it will sound good on all notes not just the low ones.

Thanks
