Hey guys, this is my first post over here at ecoustics. I frequent CA.com quite a bit, but I feel that I will get more support over here with my box decision.

I will be powering this sub with an Orion 2500D in a CLK 430 trunk.

My max dimensions for this sub is:

15.5H x 35W x 21D

I would like for this sub to be used as a daily, musical sub that will get very loud (which I have already determined) when the need arrives.

I primarily listen to a lot of Electronic music (break beats, D&B, progressive house) and also a lot of rock, metal and alternative(TOOL most of time, double kick stuff).

My biggest problem I have had with ported boxes is the group delay of blending the quick changing bass frequencies together.

My first thought is to tune REALLY low, around 28-30hz, and build the box between 3.5-3.7 cu.

This is where you all come in.

Any suggestions, questions, tips?

hmmm maybe a little bit bigger of a box say 4.0 cubes and tuned a tad higher I think 32-34hz would be good. you never called me man. =( but sorry I didn't give you a real answer on ca.com. I think when I was pming you I was in a transe from lack of sleep. =(

man there is a 3x dbdrag event up here in farmington in august. you coming?

is that 15.5 height gonna be high enough to put a 15" sub in or are gonna mount it differently?

I know hunter, I just didn't want to bug you with the busy weekend. I will give you a buzz soon. Do you think 32-34 might be too high? Remember, I just don't want any group delay, that is my biggest concern.

And John yes, 15.5 will be just enough, but I could go 16H if need be.

Thanks a lot for all the help guys. I may ask a million questions about things you all may know, but I'm about tired of building the "same" boxes.

I've been through 11 setups since October and I'm about ready to be content......and I say that like it's that easy.
