How big of a port?

Alright im trying to build a box on reaudio.com and i dont know how big to make the port. Box is for a 2005 RE XXX.

it could really vary, im going to start off with probably 700 until i get my Big 3 done then probably 1000.

Well, if you pressed for volume as to enclosure size for that wattage, ya really don't need more than 40 sq.in. of port area.

well im doing the design on reaudio and the area is at 75. i just want to know what the port width should be.

If you are running 1krms on a 15" sub, use the standard rule: 15 x cuft of box.

So if your box was four cubes: 15 x 4 = 60

So you would need 60sq inches of port.

alright thanks. It says its a 4.5 cu. ft. box. and i have the port width at 5". This alright?

4.5 NET? or gross? you want the NET cuft.

BTW i already designed a 4cuft net box for your car and we established that it would not fit? lol
