so i have room for 28 cubic foot box really easy.
aq 2200

,
right now i am prolly going to get 2 18 RE sx's
but! i was also looking at the blt but the site doesn't have any specs on it.
but still i am guessing a pair of sx's will be louder just because of the cone area and plus i have all the room.

really my question is. should i make the box as big as i can? if i make 28cubic feet box i should think that it will sound very low and yucky, and ill lose spl. just thought i would see what u guys think a good size would be

alright. i was thinking 37Hz.
would that be alright?
i was thinking about 1 btl ha. or 2 bls or something like that.

and an other thing that i always get mixed up on. when u say 12 cuft is that counting the port to? so i would be like 4 cuft of port and 8 cuft of the rest of the box?
or do u mean like 12 cuft of the box and then 5 cuft of port?

(just made the port sizes up but u get the point)

whenever someone tells you a certain cuft, it means net. after the port and driver displacement.

37 doesn't seem that bad. what are you looking for exactly? if you want a bit more flat repsonse and lower extension, you might want to tune lower.

from my experiece, the btl really comes alive at 36-38hz so 37 would be good. as for the re sx 18, when i had it i had it tuned to 32hz and it was awesome. tried a higher tuning like 36hz but i didn't like it as much as lower tuning.

for the btl they suggest you tune about 33hz but if you you want pure spl then go with about 36

its not pure spl when you tune it to 36. one of my box was tuned to 38hz and it got really musical and sounded great. the lows were hitting like crazy on young jeezy's hypnotized.

i don't have a tone of money. but looks like ill be getting a pair of RE SXs

i am going to make a wall like i had talked about before. really wat i would like is to get 150db
this is something i drive every day, but u can't say there is no way ill get 150 because i have seen a few people with a pair of 18s and 2k watts getting 150 to 152.

i want it to sounds good if i can... but more than anything i am just wanting to hit that 150 SO BAD!

You can't afford one BTL but you can two RE SX 18"s? That don't sound right.

150dB = $$$

Save up.

150 on a daily tuned set is very hard to do

be realistic & just enjoy ur music

if u wanna do 150 i suggest u build another set of box tuned for spl purpose & use that...

i have the money to buy one BTL but not 2.
idk. i really think ill get 150 or really close to it. i was getting a 145/146 with one BL and a rockford 1000.1 on music 37Hz .
so with a pair of 18s i am thinking 148/149 and with me sealing the box off like this
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w226/zaxfire69/IMG_0745.jpg
i am thinking 150 is something i could get close to hitting.

then i should be really close to 150.
