will my 4 12" JL W0s be at if i wire all 4 of them onto one channel.

i have a monoblock amp, and if i run every positive together and every negative together on that one channel, will my ohms lower??

Depends on if they are the 4 ohm version or 8 ohm version of those subs.

If 4 ohm each that makes 1 ohm.

If 8 ohm each that makes 2 ohm.

are your amp terminals even big enough to fit 4 wires in one channel? i highly doubt they will fit if you are using anything bigger than 16 guage wire (which you will need at least 12 guage)

it will lower the ohms but it depends on how many ohms your subs are, svc or dvc, and if your amp will is stable at however many ohms you wire it down to

the subs are svc, and they're all on 16 guage wire.

they are svc 4 ohms.

could i wire them all together on a JL500/1 amp?

http://www.autovendors.net/resources/guides/sub_wiring.php#d2

that link will show you how to wire your subs. you should be able to wire them all together at a 4 ohm load which would work great with the JL 500/1

" i highly doubt they will fit if you are using anything bigger than 16 guage wire (which you will need at least 12 guage) "

LMAO don't listen to this idiot. You do not need 12 gauge speaker wire, 16 gauge is fine for those subs.

Yes you can wire those subs to a JL 500/1 but NOT THE WAY you were saying.

You'd need to wire them like this:

i made that comment before realizing those subs can only handle 125 rms each

ok now MS, you're positive that would be a 4 ohm load?

because im ready to buy http://sonicelectronix.com/item_9527_JL+Audio+A1200.html

to push these JL W0s.

i just want to make sure
1) it will push them; and,
2) they won't make a 1 ohm load and fry this amp

That amp is not going to work. It only does 175w at 4 ohms so youd get 44w per sub which is almost nothing. If you want a JL amp you need the 500/1, it does 500w at any impedance 1.5-4 ohms.

Or, get an amp the does at least 500w at 1 ohm. You can wire those subs to 1 or 4 ohms so you need an amp that does at least 500w at one of those impedances.

I would suggest this amp

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rockford-Fosgate-Power-T5001BD-Mono-Amplifier-500x1-AMP_W0QQ itemZ200231615279QQihZ010QQcategoryZ64570QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

That is a very good quality amp, and is underrated it can do 700-900w.

yeah, thats all good and dandy,
but that still has the same situation as my other one.

if i got the A1200 it runs on one channel 4 ohms 175w rms.

where that rockford will only push out 125 rms at one channel 4 ohms.

is this going right over my head or what>\?

You would wire the subs to 1 OHM with the RF amp and you would get over 500w.

Slightly off topic, if one were to push a dual one sub with 1200 watts, wired in a series, what would be the optimum wire to use. I have massive monster on it now, I believe it is 8 gauge monster cable speaker wire (it was free from a friend). I'm guessing there is some loss due to impedance, but I am ready to be schooled.
Cheers,
Ty

Ty:

You can't have too big of a wire, but 8 gauge is way unnecessary. 12 gauge is plenty for 1200w.
