The big 3 consists of:

Alternator to battery
Battery ground to Chasis
Engine to Chasis

Use all 0awg if you can

Yep the big 3 is just upgrading your wire under the hood.

It's best to get a nice big battery up front and people reccomend a Deep Cycle battery. I went with a large starter battery up front and it's worked well for me but I have been thinking about grabbing a deep cycle too see if anything changes.

It is one of the easiest, basic, best things you can do for your electrical. The wiring from the manufacturer is just to meet the minimum requirements. Even on a small system, the big 3 can make a noticeable difference.

and just to make something very clear here that people sometimes get confused on.

You never replace wire when you do the big 3, you are always supposed to add onto existing wire. Remember people, more is better:-)
