Well, I started on the 3 DD3515 box today.
EVERYTHING is going to be doubled...the baffle will be tripled.

165sq inches of port and the port will have 2 dividers in it to allow me to block 1/3 of it for daily driving :-)

So...on to the pix:

Yea, I'm going to try subs forward, port up. It works in mini-trucks, but to tell you the true I have never seen a loud full-size truck w/ this design.

Well, really I don't see many loud full size trucks at all...unless they are all out walled.

I have no idea if this box will do well or not, but I wanted to try it. I thought about subs up, port up on driver's side...but thought that may lead to some loading issues w/ 3 subs.

The port will actually kinda like my interchangeable slot-vent design but w/ no T-nuts. It will not be as easy to remove and change, but will be swappable. I can easily change the port width from 3.25" to 4" (or anything between). With alil more work, the port length can be changed also.

This first port should peak at 46-48hz if I looked at it right. I can always open up the port and get the note up alil though. The box is only going to be ~9.5cuft net.

well the mini trucks have tiny cubes for each 15. ao I think canaan....go with 3 18s across with 4 cubes a piece. and 150 sq. in of port for each sub. hahba.but I don't think that's going to fit. =( maybe 100sq in per sub

HunterW,
My truck like's ~48-51hz depending on how much space I take up in the cab w/ the box. This box is going to give me ~3.15cuft per sub. I know mini-trucks go w/ 2-2.5cuft per 15", but they peak in the 58-68hz range.

I got the box mostly done today...only 2 baffles though for now. I will add the 3rd tomorrow and do some sanding. Going to do some caulking later, gotta get some food right now.

I'm going to get everything mounted tomorrow after work. May even get some #'s unless my neighbors b7tch.

Moar pics coming soon.

I jumped on it this evening and got alot more done. Got the third baffle layer on and got alot of sanding/routering done.

Ran into alil hang up though.
I pulled the seats and old box out of my truck, only to find that I had no one at home to help me get this heavy SOB in the truck!!!

So, I fought w/ this dam thing to get it in the cab. Its a hell was of a tight squeeze and its fvking heavy!!! But I got the dam thing in the truck.

So...moar pics:

I believe he was doing 150-151 legal, with 2 3515's before. I hope he can do those numbers legal with all of the testing he has done.

With 2 3515's...subs and port up, I did 153.1dB @ 46hz (kick) and hi-151's legal at .38ohm dcr. It would street beat 150+ at 1.5ohm w/ DJ Magic Mike.

Like I say, I never actually see this design in fullsize trucks. Its usually in mini's. But, like some mini's...my truck has been known to like sub up, port to drivers side. I got 149.8 @ 48hz out of a 9515D and 1 20.1 w/ just the stock batt w/ a box like that.

I'm just looking for 54-55's w/ this box. I know it needs a few changes, but that will come later. I still have some time to test before Scrapin'.

I played it today just for a little bit, its loud but not sure how loud. Its wired to 1ohm now, will drop to 1/4 for a burp tomorrow. I am also putting a cheap lil Clarion 185mp in the bed for burp purposes.

Kenny,
Have you ever messed around w/ fullsize trucks for SPL? (other than walls)
I seem to be all alone w/ this truck in the SPL world...lol.

Hey nice work, but why not just use Birch wood it should work with just one baffle?

The design you have now works best outlaw. I tried the same port setup as you and plugging ports really made no difference. The design you had previous works best legal. I'll pm you my # on the usaci board, give me call.

Yea, thats kinda what I was going for...doing USACi and running daily.

I'm stuck in Mod0-1000, so I know this won't be 'national-level loud'...but even w/ 2 35's I did pretty well in TX, LA, and MS shows.

Oh, are you going to Scrapin?
I have 2 empty rooms that are going to waste if you need em. $79 a night.

Well, metered a few times last night.
Wired to 1ohm (daily wiring), played w/ it for alil while and it topped out at 154.2dB. The the batts started dipping.

I didn't have some of the plastic panels in my truck, so that # my go up or down when I put em in. But w/ the last box, I gained 0.2 w/ the plastics in the truck.

Its pretty intense :-)
Plays pretty much any song and will do 51+ on dam near any of them.

I wired em down to 1/4ohm, but I think I had a sub out or phase (wired it fast in the dark). I lost 1-1.5dB going to 1/4ohm. Amps took it well though.

Gotta get the batts charged back up before the comp in TX this weekend. Also, I have a thing or two else I'm gonna try.

I didnt expect very much of a gain with the third sub but 1.1 db is a gain im sure youll take....50's on music thats slammin for sure....it would be cool too gain a little more with the plastic panels in too
