I bought an alpha, and an Exonic EX 200dx
http://www.ampleaudio.com/product3.html (bottom amp)
And i was planning on running the alpha at 1 ohm with about 1000 watts on it due to the limitations of my charging system
(70 amp alternator)
I have some 0 gauge wire, but i was thinking, if this amp is rated at 800 watts at 4ohms, and i run it at 4 ohms it will be more efficient, and there would be no problem pushing the full 800 watts.

Will there be a big difference between 800 and 1000 watts to the alpha??

Kevin Holden told me i would be able to run the alpha at 1000 watts without any problems, but would it still wear out my alt faster???

What would you do?

there wont be an audible difference in 800 and 1000 watts...

so i say go with 800watts to go easier on the alt.
