my suggestions:
get 2 subs each with dual 4 ohm voice coils.
1)Audioque AQ1200d-- $250+shipping
2)Memphis PR1000.1D-- Iget em for $250 locally
With the AQ1200 U will likely need to back off the gain a lil. as that amp is underrated
the type r's can and will handle more power than they are rated for even for daily use!
as for the memphis pr1000... I own 4 of them and have NEVER had a single problem with a single one. They are very strong as well. both amps are 1 ohm stable. KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE AN ENCLOSURE MADE TO SPECS FOR THOSE SUBS TO GET THE BEST SOUND.I hope this helps.

p.s.

the AQ1200D would EASILY be my 1st choice.
www.audioque.com

"also what do you mean by "dual 4ohm voice coils"?"

awww dude..
Where to start..
The subs are are refering to are "dual Voice coils" as well as most subs. Each sub will have 2 pos (+) and 2 Neg. (-) speakerwire connections..The subs you are refering to can be bought with 2 0r 4 ohm voice coils. For the amps that we recomended you would need to order the 4 ohm V.C. You would wire them in parallel all the way to the amp to achieve a 1 ohm load to get maximum power for the amp.
ohm = resistance
Need more info google any of the terms and you will get plenty if info. good luck

I did have the audioque 1200.1 internal pic up but I decided to delete my original post because the amp I found from memphis wasnt the Memphis PR1000.1D so I figured it wouldnt be fair to post the memphis internal pic against it when it was the 1500 watt version...bottom line 1000 watts rms to 1200 watts rms pretty much explains which amp is better for about the same money

"do not get the L7's

thats where your wrong

the new L7's will sound better than the Type R (i have owned/heard both)

if comparing size to size the L7 will also get louder

---------------------------------

assuming he had stock electrical and a trunk car is why i recommended the 10" L7's with the ZX1000

in that case i think you should go with the audioque since your alternator can handle it

you should get the new L7 12's over the type r though, louder and sound better

L7's sound better than a type-r...i dont believe it. all the L7s ive heard just get loud and sound like complete crap.

type-rs however, always get loud and have pretty decent SQ

i own 2 L5's, I have owneded 2-L7's I also have 2- Solo x's. I havn't heard the "newest" L7's, but by the track record I would say that the 2-12" type r's would sound a lot better than 2-10" L7's. JMHO

I guess when an L7 won an SQ competition it didnt sound good either

Give me a break you guys hear L7's in NOOB installs which is the answer to your questions

You all b1tch about it sounding like crap because your buddies buy them from chain stores and put them in shitty pre-fab boxes

A friend of mine got a proper box off of Fisher Customs for his 15 L7 and it sounded much better than my Type R in Fisher Customs box

Look above I said SIZE FOR SIZE L7 will be louder which is true because of the cone area.

Also notice none of you have heard an 08 L7 so don't come back at me until you have }
