hes got a dual 2 ohm and that sub is rated 450 rms so even if he got another sub later it wont match up...he would be wasting money because he would only be able to use it in 1 ohm with the gains set for about 600 rms tops with that one sub...whats your budget for just the amp Edgar

Always try to use a class d mono amp on subs.

Diamond Audio is good stuff and for the sub you have this amp would be a good match.

according to your other post you bought two of those subs now

https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/486028.html

so that changes things...ill see what amp I can find

class d is more efficient than class a/b (which is what a two channel amp would be)...the more efficient an amp is the more true power it can produce at a given amperage...which means the less amperage it needs to draw from your cars alternator to do it...class d is about 20% more efficient than a class a/b

the alpine mrp m1000 would be in your price range and power the subs at 2 ohm's (copy and paste the link and it will work)

or you can go with the kicker 1000.1 but its over your budget

"is Phoenix Gold a good brand"

the phoenix gold xenon amps and most of the older line amps they made are good...but stay away from the new phoenix gold amps...they went cheap on them and they are far from what phoenix gold used to be

i found a Diamond Audio amp, but couldn't tell if it was 1000 total watts or 2000 watts, it said RMS 1000 x @ 1,

alpine amps good?? depending how good these subs sound, i want to upgrade them later on to two D6 or two D9 series, depending on which amp everyone recommends i will buy on Thursday, so i can receive my amp next week and thump away

That amp is 1000w rms and is 1 ohm stable amp, you will need a 2 ohm stable amp if you are getting 2 of those subs. Have you already purchased the subs? If you haven't purchased them you can get the Dual 4 ohm version (D312D4) and they will work with that amp.

For your budget, I think the AQ1200D is your best bet. It will do 870W @ 2 ohms, and is big enough to upgrade to 2 D6's later on. They cost $250 shipped from http://audioque.com

thats not shipped but if he wants to upgrade later I agree the audioque 1200.1 will be the amp to get in his price range with a dealer warranty...but he will need two dual 4 ohms if he upgrades to the d 6 or the d 9's but if you get the d9's you should get more power because they take 800 rms each...what year make and model vehicle do you have...we should check and see what alternator you have so we dont go over what it can handle because your probably going to want an amp for your highs also to keep up with the bass...unless you plan on upgrading the alternator

build your own box if you want one ported....most ported boxes that are prefab are tuned way too high and sound bad and sometimes dont have enough port area either....but if you want sealed you can get the right sized prefab and youll be fine

if you want a sealed box go with a 2 cubic foot box per subwoofer
