I got a sub super cheap in a trade but it was coming off on the bottom where the foam connects to the sub on the outside of the foam part of the sub.
Anyway I put caulk in there and sealed it up but im wondering do you think this will work and just lose sq or will it not work at all??? Or does it depend on how good I sealed it?

are you saying the surrounds are coming off the basket? if so the caulk isn't strong enough to hold it in place.

Caulk is very heavy and can easily throw the cone out of balance and cause the voice coil(s) to misalign. If you can, scrape it off there and use a very thin layer of speaker glue which can be found for cheap here:

I would try re gluing it. If it doesn't help then replace the surround.

Why was there a problem in the first place?

Chances are it will happen again elsewhere.
