I bought a 12 re sx a few months ago and although its a great sub I think I want something a little more. I drive a single cab pickup so I cant do a whole lot more but i was trying to think of a setup I would be a little more happy with.

audioque hdc is the first sub that comes to mind.
Ive even considered a L7.
any other thoughts??sugg????

RD alpha would not be louder.

HDC3 should be about the same.

L7 will definetly not be louder than a fully powered SX.

You could try putting more power to the SX they can take more than 1200.

Otherwise you're gonna need more cone area.

Got to correct you there MS, the Alpha will get louder than a SX. I know for a fact hands on in proper boxes. Actually, we were surprised when the Alpha was only .3 off from a BTL but having better SQ and output in the lower end.

honestly i would figure the L7 would be just as loud and probably louder than the SX on recommended power. 1000 on the SX and 1000 on the L7 and my money would go on the L7 being louder.

I agree with Reece on that. I would think the L7 would be louder. SX would sound better, but the solo would be louder.

You can contact me by email for pricing on the Alpha. We have a sale on 12 inch versions right now.

That may be, I was thinking of the old alpha as I haven't seen / heard a new one yet.

On recommended power probably, but thats not what I said. You can put a lot more than 1000w to an SX safely.

so Im really thinking about the alpha but I dont have the cash till I sell some stuff. what if I redo my box?
my port area isnt big enough for my sub so I have considered building a new box. do you all think it would be worth building a new box just to increase port area.

also do you think i would be safe adjusting my gain to 1500 watts on my bxi2006d?
