On the box... really just wanna know what you guys would do in my situation, 1 sub in a ported box with port on the front, amp will be mounted on the back of the box.

Small hole in the back panel of the box for the speaker wire to hang out of? install terminals in the box? run wire out of the port and call it a day?

Drill a hole and silicone it, it has to be sealed.

Thats what I always do.

If you need to cut a hole, you should install a terminal cup as well.

Just my $.02

silicone? Is that expensive? I gettin tired of buying tools and such for something I'm only gonna use once, but I do wanna do it the right way since I plan on never doing it again. (we'll see how long that lasts)

Do u think caulk or the expanding foam stuff will get the job done?

Thanks for the input

Some people hate terminal cups, personally, I use them and like the convenience of them.

skip the terminal cups and run the wire out the back of the box and silicone it...it saves you money anyway not having to buy the terminal cup

Good tip is to tie a knot in the wire just inside the box. That will prevent the wire from ever pulling on the speaker.

"Drill a hole and silicone it, it has to be sealed. "

that's what i did. now if youll be needing to take your sub out on a weekly basis, go for a terminal cup, if not, just drill a hole and silicone it...

The sub's vibrations will wreak havoc on the amps' internals.

Ah, I see... I don't really wanna mount it to the back of my rear seats, but my only other option is just to let it lay inbetween the back seat and the sub box... unless I add some length on to my cables... I'll post pics of whatever I figure out, that's still a week or 2 out, last semester of college doesn't give me much time for anything!

Any caulk is fine. IMO terminal cups suck, they can leak and are harder to seal.

And yeah DO NOT mount amplifiers on the box. Back seat is usually the easiest, unless you make an amp rack.

Hot glue FTMFW.
Quick to dry and strong.

Drill a hole just big enough for the speaker wire and slip it thru w/ plenty left inside and out for slack. Put a big glob of hot glue around it on the inside, small glob on the outside.

I have yet to have a box leak wiring them this way.
