Looks nice, just have to be careful no one hits it/cuts it/kicks it/messes it up.

^^^thats why i never wanted to get pods. most people dont know how much time and $$$ it costs to have a really nice sound system, so they dont really care if they break your sh1t. i cant count how many times someone has gotten in my car and turned the stereo up all the way! pisses me off. no one touches my stereo but me.

looks good.. if you wanted to save yourself trouble you could try sealing off your door and run 6-8" woofers and have them hidden.. i've seen a lot of installs like that

if you do a pod like that i'd suggest to wrap it instead of paiting.. other than that looks good :-)

I have built similar pods on doors using high stiffness injection molded plastic. My friend owned a molding shop so I could make them for just the cost of the powder. See the way it is lifted off of the door all the way along to the right of the speaker mount? This adds air space, and using this technique it is possible to get .20 cubes or more which drastically increases mid-bass output. You should add dacron filler for even more apparent volume and resonance reduction.

yeah the air space is what i am after by doing this. my door is sealed pretty nice with some deadener but too much air space.

Hey Chad I noticed why you really didn't like the kicks especially with your clutch pedal being there, had to suck. I will get to glassing after this weekend. The 6's will be on the floor and the 5's will be in the doors, they will all seem to be almost next to each other. I pulled the old sub box out also, foam @ss gasket formed nicely just have to resin/glass certain key areas and it will be ready for the Fisher box, can't wait... Polo.

didnt you just do a 3 way set for the doors?
So you just using one mid? what about the tweet? on the sail, pillar? Looks like a good idea. It will bring the stage up higher too. Are you gonna angle them slightly?

So what you get done today? Post a pic?

j/k.

yes it is rovin and i love the way it sounds. but if you listen to a set in a nice sealed enclosure, the mid bass just comes alive.

berny i am having it done by chad geary.

anyways, did you get a quote on how much he is going to charge you? I still want to take another stab at doing it myself and if I don't prevail, then maybe get it done professionally with new door panels.
