Well, a customer came in the shop today and asked me, "why would an amp catch fire on the RCA side?". I asked what amp, he says Boss. Um...ok.

He brings the amp in and it is FRIED!
Another local shop did the install, and seemed to be installed correctly. (They usually go good work, but the really stick people on the price)

It litteraly burned a whole in his seat, and melted the carpet and such.

The guy is bringing pics of the truck later today. I'll post them up when I get em.

He got ahold of Boss and they are sending him a new amp. He may be getting a lawyer to suit for damages to the truck.

when you run wires in a car, under the carpet there is a layer of fire resistant insulation(in most cases) if you put the wires above this and there is a cut in the wire, you can catch the carpet on fire. but idk about this case, looks like there was another problem.

I guess I'll be picking up some Boss amps tomorrow so I can file a lawsuit as well.
