with the new jl products, the rms wattage on most or all of the subwoofers went up. i have an alpine pdx 1.1000 amp and i want to know if i should still go with my original choice, the 13w7. Or should i now go with the new 12w7?

im just wondering, if i get the new 13w7 that has a rms wattage of 1500, i wouldnt be getting the full potential of the sub and i want to know if it woul be smarter to use the full potential of the new 1000rms 12w7.

Get the 13". 13" on 1000w will be louder than 12" on 1000w. Thats all there is to it.

You don't put to put the maximum recommend power on a sub. And haven't we had this discussion before?

Well the new 13.5" W7 is 1500 RMS, but as far as I know the sub hasn't been renovated or upgraded in anyway. That sub will sound great with that amp.

There is nothing new about the W7 other than listed power ratings.

Its the exact same sub, JL just increased the #'s in the books.
