I found this, wasn't sure what to think. $1,00 for 5kw RMS. has Earthquake lost it, or what?

http://www.audioassault.co.uk/Amps/Mono_Amps/Earthquake_Powerhouse_PH5000W%20D1_ Mono_Amp

I remember looking at one of these to do the job:

So what's the word?

I think $1k is waaaaay to much for that amp, but it is the newer model I believe.

I used to run the older model (Red amp) and I'm pretty sure it did it's rated power as I gained around 2.5db when I moved up to my RD 5750.1

I know the old red models are good, but haven't been able to find any outside info on the new ones... Looking at the RD 3250.1 from Kevin right now.

Doesn't seem like too many choices for a decent amp for that wattage in my "price range"...

Thanks for the respone bro.

And earthquake amps aren't even good quality. Those are also peak ratings.

@cam

I liked that amp, pretty darn light for what it does.

I think the only difference between the 5kW and the 10kW is that the 10kW can be strapped with another 10kW to obtain 6krms 10k max.

@M.S
I never had an issue with the amp and it never even got warm. I heard they blow up when you try to give them 15v or higher though as they can not handle it.

From what I have seen they are a hit ot miss....... I've seen quite a few of them blow up, but then for some people they work fine. Much like hifonics amps.........
