Alpine makes good amps and excellent HUs. I would look elsewhere for subs though, but the type R and type X are alright.

As for memphis, subs are ok but stay away from the amps.

i had 2 12" alpine type r's and a 1600 watt rms amp bridged and i went against a guy with 2 12" l7's and even that guy admitted that mine were louder and he liked my subs, imo i love the new alpine gen of subs they are kick @$$

"an amp that can power 750-1000 to each sub"

sounds like a new HO ALT is in order for that one...

you might could get by with runnin 750 to each sub on a stock alt. depending on your vehicle. but 1000 each is stepin over the line a lil bit.

I have memphis amps, and I would be a little wary of the subs from what I understand. I've never owned any, but I've heard many many people have to recone or replace.

I've owned type-rs and a type-x, and I liked them both, but the only thing I'd buy from them now is headunits.
