Last decision. 2 Fi X's or 1 Q

Alright, I have 2 Fi X12's in a prefab ported box right now. they sound alright but not great. Either I put ~$200 into a box for them or I save up and buy a Q15 and a box(~$300+$200). my question: how much better will the Q sound than two 12X's? is it worth waiting to save up for the Q and the extra $300.

i would first suggest building a new box for your current subs. The prefab box is most likely limiting the performance of those subs. Build your own box, that will make your decision alot easier since it won't cost near 200.

get someone to design you a nice box and build it yourself. it would be much less than 200 that way

i wish i could but its hard being in college away from home without carpenter tools, space, and enough time. Its just a lot easier to pay someone. Ive got a buddy of mine that seems to know a lot about box building however, how much should i pay him? 150?

Get a quote from some of the box builders on here. A box built for the subs will make a serious difference.

The x's werent designed for IB apps. Fi does however have a sub designed for IB apps.

The X was on a blowout. I dont know if they have any left but I'm sure you can contact Scott and find out.

"Ben,
They are dual 4 Ohm subs. They were discontinued due to lack of sales. It simply seems that most Fi customers wanted larger subs with options... and not a standard 2" coilde sub. I really liked them and was disappointed that they didnt sell better. But, I am using a very similar design for another company I own coming out shortly. Dealers seem to really like them."- E-mail from Scott at Fi
