need to build this box for some1 for daily use

but looking at the rec DD specs i see

2.6cuft
52sq" port area ( works up to 20sq"\cuft)
18" length port

using http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 a 18" port = roughly a 47hz tuning ! .....WOW - is that really how high they rec tuning their subs !?

while in their ''Box Sizes for High Efficiency Subwoofer Systems.'' section they rec 16sq"\cuft & 40hz......WTF!?

was thinking more along the lines of 36hz for daily use ....something like this : http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp?Ew=40&Eh=14.75&Dia=6&Xmax=27& Vd=.2&NumW=1&Vb=2.6&Fb=36&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0

what u guys think ???.....

mines tuned at 38.5 and sounds great. ive also tuned to 40 but i like 38.5 better. i think 36 is to low i would go below 38

Yeah the 95 series really don't like low turnings or even moderately low........ I have one at 38 hz.

so 38hz is the lowest u guys would go ?

have heard 38hz & its kinda deep at expense of loud .....40hz makes it alot loude but lack lows ....see thats why i really dont think much of 95s since its just mainly built for LOUD but not very musically accurate IMO ....

It is an SPL leaning sub that is still listenable for daily, so ya have to take it for what it is.
