Crossfire VR4000D

Class "D" subwoofer amplifier
1 x 2000W @ 4 ohms (12.5V)
1 x 4000W @ 2 ohms (12.5V)

a bud of mine wants to run 1 of these on a 9512 g series @ 1ohm for short period of time 30-45 seconds playing music - is that adviseable ?

i know he will have to get a good charging system to do it - what kind of current draw & extra batts he may need ? .......

I'm personally not a fan of the Memphis 4KW amps so...I'd look into something else.

i had a memphis 4kw and the ONLY downside to it is that it needs a good charging system...i had 3 hc2400s and a 200a alt and i never dropped below 13V...but other then that the amp was inf\/ckingcredible

Yeah the memphis 4kw amps are known to blow up. They draw a ton of power, and can't handle voltage drop. Not a good combination.

I agree. It's a very inefficient amp and it's nothing impressive. I wish Chad had run different amplifiers back when he had his BTLs because he could have been much louder with different amps.

The MCD4KW seems to be the problem child.

Memphis amps are good but at dealer cost there is better for the money.

Well I guess that can go for all mainstream products.(right)
