You will not get an amp new that will do that power for $100-150. The closest thing will be the hifonics 1206d.

Looked used, and why does he basically want to blow 150 bucks and get something not that great instead of saving 75 more bucks and getting something good. People

^yea, amp probly wont be new, and was already looking at the 1206d...if i dont find something else cheap, i'll probly just tell him to get that.

but for all i know, he could just have some sonys, so a cheap sony amp could be perfect then ...lol

Cerwin Vega EXL-1200 on ebay. Not worth the risk on HiFonics.

It more than likely won't rated power. It'll be more around the 1000w area.

"Not worth the risk on HiFonics."

What Risk? I have installed 4 of these amps and also have never heard anything bad from people that have actually used them in the correct manner. They will actually take some abuse. They are decent budget amps, but budget none the less.

They are not the most reliable I've seen a few blown. As stated they are budget quality.
