I never hear too much about them on her, but I've heard a few people on ca.com say they sound pretty good (but theres so much b.s. on CA it's ridiculous).
How does the output on a cvx compare to an L7, and do they have a the same failure rate as the L7's (cracked cones, worn out spiders, etc.)?

I like the CVR's and CVX's but not aurthorized dealers cost if you are paying those prices there is better for the price. But you can I find go deals of the web/unaurthorized.

The CVX's have around the same output but have better SQ. And I have not heard of the CVX's having problems like the solo's unless you consider installer problems like way over powering, wrong boxes or chipping and when people don't know what they are doing the best equitment can sound like sh!t.(if you know what I mean)

I have one.

Ported to 38hz they have a tad less output than the 12" L7 (at 40-41 hz i think) audibly - i've never metered, but certainly better SQ than an L7. It's a decent subwoofer - certainly exceeded my expectations when I paid $140 shipped for my 12".

How much are they charging on ebay?(new or used)

Govmint Cheese

Always build your own box or have someone build to spec for the sub you get.

There is plenty of good information on CA if you look. I have talked a little bit with one of the Kicker reps, and the CVX is a very solid sub. Reminicent of the old round solo-baric subs.

So if I got a W7 in a HO Box I should get rid of the box and make my own? Answer is no.

This is why I am asking.

It is always worth building your own to your own specs, no pre-fab can do that.

They are about $140-150 shipped for refurbished ones, and about $160-180 shipped for new ones.

We have 1 15" cvx in a ported box tuned to 35 hz.. pushed by pr1000d... hit 141.1 db... Just ordered a 2nd sub... already have another pr1000d waiting for it...It is in a 1999 Suburban
It hits really hard and is a clean bass... We were very impressed... I did out do him with 2 12" L5's with the same amp.. Yes we have 3 total. lol That Memphis Pr1000d is a Solid amp..

CVX is a solid sub. Same motor as the L7, but without the crap SQ and failures that comes from having the square cone.
