Well I'm going to assume that your alternator is only around 70 amps so here are a few subs that could work that I like that wont hurt your electrical system.

Mach 5 MAW

Ascendant Audio Assassin

Sound Splinter RL-I

Audioque 2.5

This wiring should work for you.

Yeah, many people have been very pleased with the output of the MAW's. Expecially good for a budget system.

No prefab boxes. Box needs to be built for the sub.

You can get a good box there.

There wont be much that is better at Circuit City or Best Buy. The products that I listed and most underground brands in general are better made and perform better.

BTW I installed a 12" MAW for my buddy and was very impressed by the output and it is also one of the cheapest (good) sub you can buy.

if you like the MAW, you could buy a prefab sealed box to put it in. Never trust the prefab ported boxes however.

The Maw is recommended at 1.0cu ft.

Here is a box that would work.

As for an amp, look at finding one in the range of 300-400wrms at 2 ohms, since the MAW is D4 - meaning 2 4ohm voice coils.

The kicker refurbished would be a nice inexpensive choice to match with the sub. Kicker makes good amps and I believe the refurbished products come with a 90 day warranty.
