How high quality is my system?
Two 12" MTX5500 series subs
MTX 600XD amp
Pioneer DEHP5900IB stereo

My frequency question-- I was just wondering what is the best to set it at for rap music? (best for good bass)

MTX blows. I used to have a 7500 and it was alright but didnt hit the lows at all, and sounded kinda blah. Their amps are over priced too. Your deck is a nice mid level peioneer.

Do you mean what crossover freq. for the amp? If so then anywhere from 60-80 is good. Your not gunna really gunna get a different kind of bass setting it to 60 or 80, setting it higher will play more high bass frequencys though. Your just cutting the frequency off at whatever point you set it to. So if you set it for 80 then 80hz and below will go thru.

I got MTX cuz at the time, buy one 5500 for $150, get one free. And had heard they are pretty good for price. So far I have been happy with it. Another ? -- Would it be a good idea to turn my amp up high or all the way? And what about the bass boost.. how high can I turn that up without losing quality of sound?

NO its not a good idea to turn the gain up all the way. Leave bass boost off. It will only end up hurting you.

Set your gain this way:

download a 50hz 0db test tone from realmofexcursion.com
